Who is Your Maker?

Psalm 100:3 states, “Know ye that the LORD, HE is GOD: It is HE that hath made us, and not we ourselves; We are HIS people, and the sheep of HIS pasture.”

Our LORD is GOD. HE is not “a god.” HE is GOD. HE is supreme. HE is first. HE is last. HE is Alpha and Omega.  HE existed before anything, and HE is the ONE who created us. HE created me. HE created you.

As much as we would like to give our parents credit for the beautiful creation of “you”, they are merely stewards who have been granted a divine opportunity to help shape you as you sojourn here on earth.  

Parents may be genetic contributors to why your hair is naturally curly or red; your nose is pointy, or even why your height is excessive or limited. However, you originated long before your parents encountered each other for the first time.

 HE is your SOURCE of identity and had great plans for your purpose on earth (Jeremiah 29:11) long before you were birthed into it (Jeremiah 1:5).  

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT)

“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born, I set you apart and appointed you as MY prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT)

We are not self-made. We do not own ourselves. We have a MAKER, and we belong to HIM. HE holds the patent of you.

THOU art worthy, O LORD, to receive glory and honour and power: for THOU hast created all things, and for THY pleasure, they are and were created. Revelation 4:11

In the book of Revelations, chapter 4, verse 11, we see that everything that GOD created was designed to bring HIM pleasure. HE did not create us to solely be born, live on the earth for a few years, work at jobs that most of us find no fulfillment in, and then die.

HE created us to please HIM.  Searching for an understanding of this scripture has always captivated me. If HE created me, then I was made to bring HIM pleasure.  I love the fact that there is a way that I can live, think, love, share, and serve that is a blessing to HIM.

If you are ever searching for purpose in your life. You have just arrived at one aspect of it. You were created to bring HIM pleasure.

Bless the LORD, oh my soul.  

Dearest FATHER,

YOU are indeed worthy to receive glory and honor. As YOUR creation, my soul has the ability to honor YOU when I acknowledge YOU as my Maker. I am YOUR property, and I will search, study, and learn from YOU the intent YOU had for me when YOU chose me to be born here on Earth.

Bless YOUR Holy Name.
