The word trifecta may carry a different definition depending on the context it is referring to. In horse racing, trifecta represents a bet to forecast the first three winners of an upcoming race. In basketball, it could be referencing a three-point shot. In football, the word trifecta refers to an individual player who had achieved a passing, receiving, and rushing touchdown within the same game.

The late Walter Payton did so in October of 1979 (see story here).

In 2 Corinthians 13:14, the apostle Paul reminds us that we have the ultimate trifecta gift of intimacy with GOD. He described it as the Grace of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, the Love of GOD, and the Communion of the HOLY SPIRIT.

When we embrace the nature of our divine COMPANION, we can approach life as winners every day. There are too many riches within this one trifecta statement. Therefore, I will expound on each aspect in separate blogs.

Today, we will look at Grace.

Grace of the LORD JESUS CHRIST

There are many layers to the phrase “the Grace of our LORD JESUS CHRIST”. Grace has often been described as divine favor, forgiveness and freedom. It has been described as the acronym for GOD’s Riches at CHRIST’s Expense and GOD’s Redemption at CHRIST’s Expense.

All of which is correct within their appropriate context.

The Grace of the LORD JESUS CHRIST is also a heavenly influence that enables us to do GOD’s will. The Oxford Languages dictionary defines enable as to give someone authority or the means to accomplish something.

For example, a car is incapable of fulfilling its purpose of delivering you from location A to location B, without the means of gasoline. If there is no gasoline, the car is not enabled to move.

The Grace of our LORD JESUS CHRIST can be looked at as our spiritual gasoline to move, to refrain, to resist, to accomplish, to speak (or not speak), according to wherever or however GOD is directing us.

Grace cannot be earned. It is the unmerited favor of GOD that equips you to live by faith. If GOD has instructed us to live by faith (Romans 1:17), HE does so because HE is fully aware of the capabilities of HIS Grace.

If you have ever wondered “how do I love my enemies”; it is only accomplished by a divine enabling ability called Grace. The same Grace that our LORD JESUS CHRIST walked in during HIS earthly ministry. Grace equips you to have a capacity for forgiveness.

When JESUS stated on the cross “FATHER forgive them for they know not what they do”, HE was speaking within the enabling power and authority of Grace.

This is one reason why the Gospel is referred to as “Good News” because this revelation of Grace should be Good News to us.

Whatever difficulty that you may be facing in your life today, you do not have to face it alone or to face it in your own strength.

Are you struggling with grief, addiction, self-doubt, depression, mental highs and lows, disappointment, fear, showing or receiving love?  Whatever your challenge is, Grace is available to meet you where you are, to assist you, empower you, and support you to overcome your current battle.

Hang in there. You are not alone. None of us can achieve the fulness of life that GOD has designed for us without Grace.

May the Grace of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, the Love of GOD, and the Communion of the HOLY GHOST be with you all today.

Bless the LORD Affirmation

FATHER,

Thank YOU for providing us with the Grace of the LORD JESUS CHRIST. YOU sent YOUR SON to pay the penalty for our sins. That alone is a debt we are eternally grateful for and can never repay. Yet, YOU went beyond the giving of the blood of JESUS and provided us also with the same Grace that was afforded to HIM. Thank YOU for this precious Gift; life without it is simply impossible. For it even takes Grace to command our souls to do the following:

Bless the LORD, oh our souls and all that is within us. Bless YOUR Holy Name.

Amen
