The grace of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, and the love of GOD, and the communion of the HOLY GHOST, be with you all. Amen. (2 Corinthians 13:14)

In our continuance of discussion on trifecta Intimacy with GOD, based on how the apostle Paul ends his epistle in 2 Corinthians chapter 13, this blog will explore the riches within the statement “the LOVE of GOD”.

It is impossible to talk about GOD and not talk about LOVE.

HE doesn’t merely express love. Love is not an attribute of GOD. HE is LOVE. (1 John 4:8)

In many relationships, there is a phrase that is often said “I love you more”. The connotation behind this statement is that a response of loving one “more” means that their love is greater in comparison.

When we talk about the LOVE of GOD, there are no stages, ranges, or levels to HIS LOVE. HE is LOVE. HIS LOVE is incomparable. HIS LOVE is unparalleled. HIS LOVE is complete.

Romans 5:8 reminds us all that because of the love of GOD, while we were yet sinners, CHRIST died for us. Therefore, regardless of what lifestyle you may be currently living, GOD loves you.

In a “world” where our value is measured in ranges and circumstances, it is so refreshing to be loved with no strings attached.

Sometimes GOD will allow us to experience conditional relationships just so that we can truly appreciate the purity and nourishment of HIS LOVE. The Greek word for HIS irreplaceable LOVE is ἀγάπη, which is transliterated as agapē.

Agapē love is the highest form of LOVE that can be bestowed upon an individual. All of our souls yearn for this kind of LOVE because we were created from it.  Before we were designed in our mother’s womb, our atmosphere and our environment were LOVE. (Jeremiah 1:5)

When Paul prays for the love of GOD to be with us, he is interceding for our comfort, our confidence and our consciousness. As long as we are aware of the love of GOD, we always have a place where we belong.  We always have a place where we are accepted. Therefore, since HE has accepted us, shouldn’t we accept HIM? Shouldn’t our love to HIM be reciprocal? Shouldn’t our love for others be reflective of how HE loves all?

Afterall, we only have the capacity to love appropriately because HE first loved us. (1 John 4:19)

HE even explains further that HIS Love is operating within us when we willfully keep HIS commandments. (John 14:15) This is not a conditional requirement. It is simply an evidential statement. Our consciousness should also be aware of what our loving GOD hates. That, however, deserves a blog post of its own.

In a world that is demonstrating the results of a lack of receiving and extending agape love, I stand in agreement with the apostle Paul’s prayer for you and me by conferring: the grace of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, and the love of GOD, and the communion of the HOLY GHOST, be with us all. Amen.
