I recently just completed my first Intimacy with GOD Conference. The conference was designed to teach how to become more intimate with the ONE WHO’s image we were created in.
The planning of this conference was just as important to me as the content delivered because Colossians 3:23 teaches us that whatsoever we do, it should be done unto the LORD and not to man.
23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the LORD, and not unto men; (Colossians 3:23)
Therefore, HE was my target AUDIENCE. It was important to present to HIM a conference from beginning to end that was constructed in faith.
One tool that was key in the planning of this conference, was a “comma”. GOD knows how easily our minds can wander and be distracted. Therefore, when HE is teaching us, HE will often add in a “Selah” to remind us to stop and listen. (Psalm 62:8)
8 Trust in HIM at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before HIM: GOD is a refuge for us. Selah.
HE wanted me to ensure that I paused long enough for proofreading and instructions from HIM because as much as I was doing it unto HIM, I was doing it for HIM. I needed to trust HIS direction. HE was hosting a party, and I was allowed to partner with HIM.
Another conference planning tool, was fasting. Intimacy with GOD is connected with a desire to have HIM first in our lives, including fulfilling our spiritual appetites. HIS Presence is so appealing, and we have been uniquely equipped to desire HIM. (Psalm 73:25)
25 Whom have I in heaven but THEE, and there is none upon earth that I desire beside THEE.
We need HIM to teach us how to pursue HIM.
