Last week we talked about hearing the Voice of GOD. It is essential for us to understand that when we talk about anything concerning the attributes of GOD, that we don’t restrict HIS capabilities to our finite minds.
We shouldn’t limit HIS capacity to speak to us, based on our rare experiences or solely according to the experiences of others.
One attribute of GOD is that HE is omniscient (Psalm 147:5). He knows all things.
HE knows all people. HE knows all thoughts. HE knows all languages (Genesis 11:1). Not just the language of every tongue of humanity, HE also knows the language of every animal, from the mosquito to the leviathan (Job 41:1-3).
HE knows the language of wind, rivers, and rain. HE talks to storms, and they understand HIS instructions (Mark 4:39).
HE can speak to trees, and they obey HIS command (Matthew 21:19).
HE is well qualified to speak with you and use whatever means of communication that HE wants.
It may be an audible voice, but if we limit our expectations of hearing HIS voice to one specific way, we’ll miss many opportunities to hear from HIM.
HE can speak through expressed thoughts (Amos 4:13). HE can speak through dreams (Gen 41). HE can speak through prayer, sermons, friends, and strangers. HE can speak through anything (Num 22: 21-35), because HE is GOD.
A unique attribute about you is that you were made in HIS image.
You were designed to hear and to know HIS voice (John 10:27). HE has known you longer than anyone else (Eph 1:4) and knows how to uniquely train you to hear HIS voice. It does take training, but HE is well worth the journey.
A great starting place is by reading HIS love letter to you. HE titled it…the Bible, and HE is speaking through it to you.
