Family rearing has come a long way since the days in the book of Genesis.

Abraham recognized GOD’s voice and was obedient to it.

It’s one of the reasons I love to read the book of Genesis because GOD is creating, (Genesis 1:1),  GOD is speaking (Genesis 1:3) , GOD is establishing (Genesis 12:1), and GOD is blessing (Genesis 12:2).

Abraham develops an intimate relationship with GOD, and he passes that same admonition to his son Isaac.

If you are wondering how Isaac reverenced GOD, read Genesis chapter 22, where his father Abraham was about to sacrifice him. As a lad, Isaac was bound with a rope by his father and laid on an altar that he knew required a sacrifice. Yet, he remained positioned there in reverence to the GOD of his father, Abraham.

Therefore, Jacob’s household was also acclimated through their culture to hearing GOD’s voice as Jacob’s name is eventually changed to Israel through intimate communion with GOD.

However, as the generations continued, we find that households and cultures changed. Recognizing GOD’s voice became more and more rare (1 Samuel 3:1). In the book of 1 Samuel chapter 3, we read that GOD is speaking to a young Samuel, but he doesn’t recognize that GOD is speaking to him. Samuel needed someone to teach him how to hear GOD’s voice.

We are no different today. Many of us did not grow up in households that reverenced divine direction from the WORD of GOD. It may seem foreign to think that GOD is still speaking today, but hang in there, because HE is.

The same GOD, that spoke to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob….. is still speaking today. Not just to individuals who may hold the profession of preachers and prophets. HE is speaking to you, too!

We just have not been trained in how to recognize HIS voice.  We didn’t grow up in households that sought out the voice of GOD. As a result, many of us struggle with hearing HIS voice. If this is you, I encourage you not to give up.

I ask for your permission to be a surrogate virtual parent and with divine authority I say to you that GOD is still speaking.

HIS voice remains relevant. HE’s willing to develop an intimate relationship with you and to speak one-on-one with you.

HE is willing.

Are you? selah….

I pray that this Blog website can be a spiritual household that teaches all, the importance of recognizing HIS voice. I say to you that in this household, GOD’s voice matters.

If we want our soul to be a blessing to HIM, we need to diligently pursue how to hear HIS voice.

Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; For in thee do I trust: Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; For I lift up my soul unto thee. (Psalm 143:8)

Hang in there with me, family, and return unto HIM some patience as we take baby steps toward intimacy.  We are beginning a beautiful journey.

Bless the LORD Affirmation
