You’ve Got COMPANY

Many years ago, online service provider American Online (AOL) had an email notification catchphrase that indicated someone was trying to communicate with you. The phrase was “You’ve Got Mail”. 

As I conclude expounding on the trifecta Intimacy with GOD statement that the apostle Paul prayed over us (may the Grace of the LORD JESUS CHRIST and the Love of GOD and the Communion of the HOLY GHOST be with us all), let this blog post serve as your notification that someONE is trying to communicate with you too. HIS name is the HOLY GHOST, and you’ve got COMPANY.

The HOLY GHOST, also known as the HOLY SPIRIT, is the third PERSON in the Trinity of GOD.

We serve only one GOD. HE expresses HIMSELF in three beings: GOD the FATHER, GOD the SON, and GOD the HOLY SPIRIT (GHOST).

Many theologians describe it as the Trinity of GOD.

While the word Trinity is not found in the Bible, HIS trifecta nature is threaded throughout it, including this blog’s foundational scripture (II Corinthians 13:14).

The word communion can be dissected as common/union.  One definition of “common” is the sharing of a similar thing. “Union” is characterized as two things coming together as one. Therefore, we can regard communion as sharing our spirit with HIS SPIRIT in intimate fellowship with the goal of our two coming together as One.

When that occurs, our thoughts align with HIS thoughts. Our ways transform into HIS ways. HIS instructions shape our decisions. All while having the free will to make any choice of our own accord.

This is why we need communion with the SPIRIT of GOD because HE provides us with wise choices. HE teaches us how to be spiritually mature. HE guides us on how to walk out our lives. Think about it: if you are in a three-legged race with the HOLY GHOST, shouldn’t HE lead the directives on how to win the race?

HE brought a three-legged sack at the moment of your salvation. Ephesians 1:13 informs us that when we received salvation at our belief in the Gospel message, we also received our COMPANY. Not only did we receive HIM, but we can’t lose HIM because we were sealed with HIM.

(In HIM you also, when you heard the word of Truth, the Gospel of your salvation, and believed in HIM, were sealed with the promised HOLY SPIRIT. Ephesians 1:13 ESV)

This COMPANY is everyone’s dream GUEST.  HE is the ultimate VISITOR WHO does not force HIMSELF in your bodily home.  HE will not disturb you. However, if you are willing to engage with HIM, HE is willing to commune with you.

What a tragedy to have Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent COMPANY and still choose to disengage with HIM.

You’ve got COMPANY…..welcome HIM.

Dear FATHER,

Thank YOU for sending YOUR SPIRIT to dwell in us. Without the guidance of YOUR SPIRIT, we live insufficient, purposeless lives. YOU know our end from the beginning, and our souls cannot navigate life appropriately without YOU. We desire to commune with YOUR SPIRIT. Teach us how to recognize YOUR Voice through YOUR WORD and YOUR Ways. Quicken our spirits in our fleshly bodies with YOURs. Move in us and speak through us. We agree with YOUR SPIRIT and say, bless the LORD, oh our souls and all that is within us. Bless YOUR Holy Name.
